Description
Michael Baker Jr., Inc. Environmental Service Area seeks to fill an Assistant Project Manager position for Military Fuels Environmental Compliance.  The preferred location is Virginia Beach, VA, however the location may be flexible.

The Project Manager will be responsible for interfacing with the clients; developing scopes of work and cost estimates; tracking budges and schedules; preparing monthly progress reports, invoices, and project accounting reports;coordinate field work activities (including coordination with laboratories to complete analytical work); coordinate with the appropriate groups on regulatory requirements; prepare project deliverables including technical reports summarizing the findings of field testing and/or investigations; manage staff working on various project tasks (including subcontractors); and ensure Baker project management and quality standards are maintained.  This position will be involved with marketing efforts to include proposals and participation at marketing events to include seminars, conventions, trade shows and professional organizations.  Travel is required for client meetings and required field work approximately every month.

Salary is commensurate with experience.
Requirements
A BS in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geology or related technical field with specific emphasis on fuel/tank related experience is required (Master's Degree preferred). Five to seven years of experience in consulting in the environmental/engineering or fuel/tank field arena; experience working for/with federal government is a plus. Additional requirements include proven project management skills, including a track record of adherence to budgets/scheduled/project scopes.  Must have strong experience with MS Office Suite; Oracle project accounting systems a plus
